A+ A A-

The Presidential Task Force on Power was established by the President Goodluck Jonathan administration, in June 2010, to drive the implementation of the reform of Nigeria's power sector. It brings together all the agencies that have a role to play in removing legal and regulatory obstacles to private sector investment in the power industry. It also has the mandate to monitor the planning and execution of various short-term projects in generation, transmission, distribution and fuel-to-power that are critical to meeting the stated service delivery targets of the power reform roadmap.

Chairman's Quote

“The good news, as we look down the road in 2015, is that upon completion of a section of the North-South loop, which is currently projected for the end of the second quarter, substantial additional power is expected to be generated into the grid, with an associated improvement in system stability. From our vantage point, we believe that this year holds the potential for the attainment of new power and energy peaks for the nation. We will seek to continue working with all public and private industry stakeholders, monitoring, facilitating and catalyzing the activities of the sector.”

Clement Oke, FNSE

Acting Chairman of Presidential Task Force on Power
